Flight Accident Vs Car Accident

Believe it or not, 2014 was one of the safest flight year in aviation history (Source: Ascend). And this is including the mysterious disappearance of MH370 and other fatal crashes that made everybody to say " Planes are not safer at all".

One in 2.38 million flights had a fatal accident last year. There were 19 fatal accidents and 671 fatalities last year. That's like less than 2 deaths per day for one year.

That being said, the aviation industry is always laser focused on increasing the safety standards. It is till the safest way of transportation.

But the public perception of the matter is directed towards handful number of crashes and an extravagant and vacuous conclusion is drawn.

I like to point out that car accidents are more dangerous than flight accidents.

3,287 people die everyday in car accidents. That is 1.3 million people in a year.

So you see public perception about flight crash is wrong.

To be safe, people should stop driving and start flying more.

Until Next time guys.

  1. I have been going to Burke Chiropracti Center for over five years now. I initially started seeing Dr. Adam Burke for chronic back pain I was having after a car accident. I had never been to a chiropractor before, but my pain was getting to a point where it was interfering with my daily life and things I love (sleep being one of them). I am now an RN and I can't tell you how important it is to not live with back pain. Absolutely professional services ! Here at www.burkechiropractic.com you can find any information you want about chiropractic.

  2. Though I completely agree that flight is far safer from cars. One of reason is that traffic is far less and pilots don’t do drunk or distracted driving. My cousin works with a DUI lawyer and keeps telling how people under influence of alcohol lose their senses and crashes their vehicles.

  14. When comparing flight accidents and car accidents, it's important to consider several factors, including the frequency and severity of incidents. Statistically, car accidents occur much more frequently due to the high volume of vehicles on the road and human error. On the other hand, flight accidents, though rare, often result in more significant loss of life when they do occur.
